Chocolate Protein Powder Oatmeal Recipe

One breakfast I’ve been loving is Double Chocolate Protein Powder Oatmeal.   With this Chocolate Protein Oatmeal I get what I need: protein to keep energy up and chocolate.  Because who doesn’t want chocolate in the morning?  I look forward to waking up now!

Here’s a quick recipe video I made to show you how easy it is to make!

Ingredients

For my Chocolate Protein Powder Oatmeal you need one scoop of protein powder (I use Vega Essentials powder) and a few basic ingredients that I know you have in your pantry.  Unlike other chocolate oatmeal recipes you don’t need cocoa powder because the protein powder adds enough chocolate taste.

I prefer using unsweetened vanilla almond milk because I love the taste, but you can use dairy, or even oat milk.

How to Make Chocolate Protein Oatmeal

This protein oatmeal is extremely easy to make, there’s really only 3 steps.

MIX. Combine milk (dairy or plant based), protein powder, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium high heat, whisking for about 3 minutes.

BOIL. Add in the rolled oats and continue to cook for about 3-4 more minutes or until they reach a light boil.

SERVE. Pour oatmeal in a bowl and then add in a handful of chocolate chips. Serve and enjoy!

Add-ons for High Protein Breakfast

You’re already using oats and milk which are filled with nutritional benefits but here are a few more things you can add in!

  • Spoon of peanut butter or almond butter
  • Chia Seeds
  • Sliced Bananas
  • Handful of Berries
  • Granola sprinkled on top

If it’s a special day, you can even add some rainbow sprinkles! 🙂

Made this for two. If you’re gonna use a full scoop of protein powder you’re gonna need more milk I used 2 cups, also use more oats of course. Rest of the recipe stays the same.
